Silent Writing Party is a community event to inspire writers to get fresh words on the page. It's difficult to find motivation to write and this low-pressure event provides it.
No talking allowed: An introvert's dream! Bring the writing instrument of your choice (pen? pencil? laptop?) and settle down for an hour-and-a-half of uninterrupted writing time. Whether you're penning a book for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) or writing at your own pace, this will be a chance to fully engage with your literary project and be inspired by a host of other working writers. Local novelist Sharma Shields, our new Writing Education Specialist, will write alongside of you and be on hand to provide writing resources both before and after the silent session.
By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.
We strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request accommodations, call the library at 509-444-5308.
