Join us for a conversation with the outgoing director of Boundary County Library Kimber Glidden, where she will share her experiences that led to her recent resignation.
As a public entity, it is important for libraries to support a wide variety of community perspectives. Now as always in our history, reading is among our greatest freedoms. We believe that free communication is essential to the preservation of a free society and a creative culture.
In some communities like the one of Boundary County Library, freedom of expression is being challenged. After becoming Director of Boundary County Library in January of this year, Kimber Glidden, was immediately faced with resistance and extreme requests for censorship. This resistance soon turned to threats and experiences that led her to feel unsafe at work.
Join us for a conversation with Kimber Glidden and Current Affairs Specialist, Shane Gronholz, as we discuss these important topics libraries across the nation continue to face.
