Test out different types of papers with different types of mediums and make a tester sketchbook to keep testing future materials.
Drop-In for Paper Tryouts! Have you ever started a drawing or a painting and you nail your pencil sketch but when you change mediums to a marker or paint, the paper fails you? The marker bled outside your lines, or the paint turned the paper into tissue paper?
Test out different types of papers with different types of mediums and make a tester sketchbook to keep testing future mediums on before committing to a final project. Paper weight, texture, materials, and more factors can make a huge difference and can vary greatly between markers, paints, pencils, and other mark-making mediums. We will provide the papers, pencils, markers, watercolors, and charcoal sticks.
Elementary and middle school students are welcome to arrive as late as 4:00pm due to their school schedule. Participants do not need to stay the whole time.
