Join us to hear from a panel of experts about the current conditions of our waste and recycling systems.
As part of Spokane Zero Waste's programming for Plastic Free July, the library is pleased to host a panel discussion with Jule Shulz, Program Director at Riverkeeper, journalist Samantha Wohlfeil, Zero waste entrepreneur Kristina Reeves, and Waste Reduction and Recycling Coordinator Heather Church from Washington's Department of Ecology. Join us as we explore the current conditions of our waste & recycling systems, learn what the panelists see as solutions to the problem, how moving from a linear economic model to a circular model changes the problem, and what things everyday people can do to facilitate change.
This program is part of the Plastic Free July Challenge, a global movement to eliminate single use plastic waste. Learn more at www.plasticfreejuly.org and participate locally on the Spokane Zero Waste Facebook Group or on their website spokanezerowaste.org.
