In celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month, Devika Gates, will be leading us in an authentic Indian Yoga practice. Wear loose clothing, bring a yoga mat, and come prepared for gentle exercise.
Devika Gates is a professional Bharatanatyam Dancer specializing in Kalekshetra style dance. Yoga has long been apart of the Indian culture and tradition and has many ties to Bharatanatyam. Mainly, yoga is incorporated and used in Bharatanatyam to attain understanding and control of one’s body and attaining spiritual awareness.
