We'll practice measuring volume and mix up some play doh! See full description for supplies list. Registration is required for this private Zoom event. Registration closes 24 hours before the event.
We'll read about measuring volume, and practice measuring with materials from your own kitchen! We'll mix up a basic salt dough play doh as well. Caregivers must be on hand to participate in the learning.
Supplies to have on hand:
For measuring: a set of measuring cups with 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 and 1 cup measuring cups, some uncooked rice, lentils, oatmeal or other measurable food item to practice measuring - at least 2 cups - and a larger container or bowl that the child can measure out of.
For play doh: 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup salt, 1/4 c water (have a little extra of these ingredients - the recipe can vary a bit.) Also: small mixing bowl and spoon for mixing, and either play doh toys or kitchen tools to cut, pattern and measure the play doh! (Plastic knife, pizza cutter, small rolling pin, cookie cutters...)
Register to participate and you will receive an email with a link with instructions on how to participate before the event. Only one registration per family/computer is necessary.
Technology requirements: You will need a device or computer with an internet connection and the Chrome browser, microphone and speakers to participate.
