In this Malaysian cooking class, Chef Alice of Feast World Kitchen demonstrates how to make three different kinds of curry, each influenced by a different region.
At the crossroads of Southeast Asia, Malaysia is truly a medley of all culinary senses. In this cooking class, Chef Alice Koh will show you how to make three different types of curry! Chicken Curry, (with Indian influence) Pineapple Shrimp Curry (Straits Born Chinese style), and Eggplants in Tamarind Gravy (Assam Pedas, with Indonesian influence). Tasting included!
Can't make this class? Join us for our next class on Malaysian Cooking on October 27 at 2:30pm where Alice will show you how to make Bihun Siam!
About the Chef
Alice Koh is a Malaysian Chinese of Peranakan Nyonya (or Straits Born) descent. She is a partner chef at Feast World Kitchen and also owns a Malaysian food catering business, SeraiMas. She used to own a fine-dining Thai Fusion restaurant in Phuket, Thailand. Her cooking is very much influenced by the women in her family and the multicultural cuisines of Malaysia. Alice and her husband Shane travel back to Malaysia yearly to visit family and have started a humanitarian journey in Southeast Asia, helping organizations and individuals. Some of the proceeds from Alice's cooking go to fund their mission!
