A poetry workshop about voice, presented by writer Mark Anderson. This is part of the first annual Inland Northwest Poetry Salon.
What poetic voice would a tiger have? What would your own mirror have to say to you? How would a grain of sand recognize the universe? Questions like these will drive us as we dive into this persona-based workshop, writing from the voices of animals and objects to discover the power of voice in poetry. We'll read notable persona-based poems as a group before launching into our own experiments.
This is one of eleven poetry events occurring at the first annual Inland Northwest Poetry Salon on June 1st.
This first-annual, day-long event at the Liberty Park Library (402 S. Pittsburg Street) will feature panels, poetry workshops and a bevy of local writers. The Inland NW Poetry Salon celebrates the craft of poetry, spotlights regional poets, and welcomes participants in all phases of their writing lives.
